Plans are being finalized and schedules are being made for Malawi 2010! I will be leading a group of 10 who are committed to serving with Ministry of Hope in East Africa, Sept 16-30, 2010. We would really appreciate your prayers as God brings together a team that will serve the people of Malawi. It is with great anticipation and excitement that we return to Malawi. I have dear friends there, having been twice before, and returning to them brings such joy! I can’t wait!!!
Our plans, although ever so flexible, will be to work at the Crisis Nursery in Lilongwe, to conduct Bible classes in the villages, to lead devotionals and work with the widows, to support and work in the Mobile Medical Clinic and to deliver “buckets of hope” to the villages to those suffering from AIDS. These buckets contain sugar, salt, soap and a mosquito net.
Each bucket costs $15US. We would love to deliver 200 buckets if possible. ($3000.US). Another project is delivering 100 English Bibles and 100 Chechewa Bibles @ $10US/each. ($2000.US). These projects are aside from the projects included in our trip costs which include feeding the children. If you wold like to help with these project costs, please let me know when you donate on line that your money should go to these specific projects. Tax-deductible checks can also be made out to “Little Dresses for Africa”. There are so many that would like to help but are unable to travel. Please ASK BOLDLY in the name of Jesus for help on these projects. It’s not about us. It’s about the children so please do not hesitate to ask your friends. Very few projects can guarantee that the money gets directly to the children. We can promise you that it will! I think we can raise $5000 pretty easily by just asking!
And, of course, our great joy will be to distribute little dresses and shorts to the children everywhere that we serve. We will be working with several schools, churches and villages who will receive the dresses that we take in our extra luggage. I will have pictures for you to see as soon as possible. Maybe your dress will show up on a beautiful and grateful child!
This month has been especially abundant in not only beautiful dresses, but also shorts and t-shirts for the boys. Several of the groups are approaching their one and two year anniversaries in helping and supporting LDFA. It’s gratifying and humbling to see how God has blessed this ministry through all of you. I am excited to see where it will lead. “I do not know what the future holds, but I know who holds the future!” Thank you to so many of you who include a check for shipping costs. Thanks to those who are instrumental in referring us to your mission teams to take the dresses. Thank you to all of you for your sweet notes. They mean to world to me and I thank you for your encouragement and especially for your prayers for this ministry. God bless you all for your help!
