From Anchorage, Alaska!

It is with joy in my heart that I announce on Nov 12, 2011, I completed 516 dresses for LDFA… I have truly enjoyed sewing them as I sewed all of the 516 myself.  It is so fitting that I completed them around Thanksgiving and Christmas.  A time of giving and sending hope.  And a perfect time for me to thank all of those who helped me reach out tooters who are less fortunate than we are.  I prayed for help.  God touched the hearts of some responding in different ways.  No matter what each one did, it was a blessing that enabled me to push forward even when, at times, I got tired.  I received dress material, notions, dress trim, also a machine table and some one to help me cut out the dresses….

Just want to say that I loved making these dresses.  I had never sewn before this. I feel blessed to be part of these.

My 7th grade Girl Scout Troop 785 made these dresses while working on the “Sew Glam” badge.  The girls had so much fun picking out fabrics and trim.  What a wonderful organization you are we are happy that we found out about you.

Enclosed ia a check to help with shipping cost and also our self addressed stamped envelope and a photo of our girls that helped.  We have an outreach in our church.  One day a week we have home schooled children come to our church for extra help with math and art, sewing, writing, cooking, etc.

My 12 yr old twin grandchildren (with a little help from their MeMa) made these little dresses and shorts.  This was their first sewing project)…
