Six months is an amazing record of some kind for deciding to send a container, collecting enough to fill a 40ft truck, raising the money to pay for shipping, arranging the paperwork with the right contacts to ship and closing the doors on this amazing project. SOOOOO many of you made it possible from the very beginning. Auctions, fund raisers, school supplies, carrying items to my house, to the warehouse, packing boxes, loading the truck, riding an elephant, working a carnival…the list goes on and on. But, the container is on its way! To God be the glory! Today is the proposed ship date out of New York. It should arrive in Malawi, Africa in March to be unloaded by the team in April 2012. The joy that the items will bring is hard to imagine, but I’ll do my best to take lots of pictures. Thank you all so much for making this happen!
Many thanks to you all for an outstanding Back to School With Laura the Elephant. The rain held off, just as we had prayed for, and left us with a bright, sunny and perfect day, full of all kinds of games, great music, great food from The Market, great items for the Silent Auction and of course amazing and exciting elephants rides, by our star of the day: Laura! Because of your generosity, we raised a total of $12,700 to date and checks are still coming in. With that day and other projects for the container, we will get the money for the container and hopefully ship it late this year. Many, many thanks for the generous donations of school supplies. Conne and I boxed them up last night, and not only were we thrilled with the amount, we were also thrilled with the high quality and variety of so many supplies. The children will be so blessed by your generosity. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!!!!! Pictures for your enjoyment. And special thanks to that cute Safari guy on the elephant with me. You have no idea how much he sacrifices and gives for this ministry. Thank you, Michael!

Love to you all,
Rachel
I had the pleasure of attending a Vision for Clean Water Conference for four days beginning last Thursday. It continues to amaze me how blessed we are in this country. We have no need to feel guilty, but rather THANKFUL! We are blessed so that we can bless others! Clean water is an important way to change lives. We are in the process of planning how we can take clean water to villages who do not have access to it. This conference was a good start. Let me know if you’re interested in more information.
