Dear Rachel,

It’s been a while since I’ve written…..thought I’d catch you up a bit on what’s going on with Little Dresses in Louisville. We’ve been busy, busy, busy as I’m sure you can imagine! Our sewers now number 30 active – some many, some few. They all just love this mission! Many sewers are getting very creative with trims and some are making the dresses from material, not pillow cases. In the two years I’ve been doing this, we’ve sent dresses through Southeast Christian Church, Hand in Hand Ministries and individual deliveries to Belize, Guatamala, Kenya, Zambia, Tanzania, Sudan, Cuba, Haiti, Mexico and an Indian reservation in North Dakota. I’ve lost track of how many dresses have been sent. I just collect and distribute kits, elastic, thread and bias tape…we have a gal who makes the bias tape out of sheets – really colorful and nice to sew with. We drop-off and pick-up at church or else I deliver or send to whereever. The Lord leads and I follow! I’m very excited because the Haiti mission that I’ve sewn for for 8 years now says they can use pillow case dresses too – not just dresses with sleeves. With the influx of people into Jeremie, Haiti after the earthquake they need anything they can get, so we will be sending dresses to them as well in June…
